Local Community Leaders Endorse Hart JANSSON
(check back for weekly updates)
1) Professor Blake Poland, Past President West Kerr Village Residents' Association
Hart has a long record of community service. He oozes integrity and commitment to community betterment, knows Ward 2 inside out, and would make a fantastic representative on Council. As a long-time resident of Oakville (1994-2012), co-founder of Go Local Oakville and Halton Green Screens, member of the former Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Sustainability, and past president of the West Kerr Village Residents Association, I had many opportunities to work with Hart and to size up what he has to offer relative to others. Jansson would be a fine successor to Pam, in the same tradition of being of service to others and championing issues that matter on behalf of Ward 2. I recommend Jansson to you without reservation.
2) Bill Ardell - Ward 2 Resident and Activist, former CEO Southam Corp.
I have known Hart for 10 years and can attest to his passion for Ward 2 as well as his broader interest in the long term growth of the larger Oakville community. Jansson has been a strong and capable advocate in knowing and protecting the rights and interests of Ward 2 residents. His ability to recognize issues, identify strategies and solutions as well as the ability to achieve positive outcomes will be of great benefit to Ward 2 residents. Support Jansson.
3) Diana Trask, President, West Harbour Residents' Association
Hart, you have my 100% support. You have been a vital part of the WHRA executive and a huge contributing factor to any success we have had in the neighbourhood.
4) Susan Curran, MD, President of Oakville Sustainable Food Partnership
I have worked with Hart Jansson over the last ten years on a variety of community projects, including the Harbourside Organic Farmers Market, Oakville Sustainable Food Partnership, and Go Local Oakville. To all these he brought his vision of a sustainable community. His commitment, organizational skills, sense of humour and breadth of knowledge were invaluable assets. I strongly endorse Hart as a candidate for Town Councillor.
5) Bev Le Francois, Governor General's Persons Award, Founder of Women of Halton Action Movement (WHAM)
Best wishes on your campaign to be elected a Ward Two Councilor on Oakville Town Council. Having worked with you on a variety of community initiatives over many years I know you will be effective in this role. Your thorough knowledge of issues facing our community, your thoughtful decision making skills and respect for others will serve Oakville well. In particular, your in-depth knowledge and interest in maintaining environmental sustainability are strong assets for this day and age. I look forward to Jansson succeeding in this campaign and playing a balanced, leading and prominent role in the future affairs of our Town.
6) Ed Viana, Halton Catholic District School Board Trustee, 1980 to 2014
Hart Jansson is my choice for Ward 2, Town of Oakville, Councillor. Jansson has been working hard in the Ward for 12 years and shows the vision, leadership and effective action that Ward 2 Oakville needs, and which I practiced during my 34 years as School Trustee. I encourage all my supporters to vote for Jansson on April 11.
7) Lorraine Green, Co-Chair GRAN (Grandmother's Advocacy Network)
Ward 2 is lucky to have someone of your caliber running for Town Councillor. I know, when you are elected, our Town will be better served and we the residents will certainly benefit having you as Town Councillor. Your past experience, both in the private and non-profit sector, have shown you to be a person of strong ethics, compassion and a desire to do what’s right.
8) Lesley Henshaw, past President, West Harbour Residents' Association
I would be delighted to support Hart Jansson in his running for Ward 2 Town Councilor. In my work with Hart on the West Harbour Residents Association and from my exposure to his work with other community agencies, I think he would be an excellent choice. He is knowledgeable, articulate, hard working, dedicated , and very responsive to community and individual needs. Jansson is a strong voice and has always been willing to speak up on community issues. Plus he is a very nice guy, and a pleasure to work with.
